1970

Company founded as Knight & Morris (Services) Ltd by Sir Gerald Glover and Ronald Knight near River Thames, London.

1972

National Dock Strike accelerates shift to containerization; company pivots toward inland container loading.

1973

Acquisition of Stephenson & Ephgrave Ltd introduces airfreight services and expands international operations.

1980

Company focuses on ocean and air freight forwarding, phasing out traditional warehousing and barging.

2000

Expansion into global markets with offices in Shanghai and India.

2005

Launch of global freight tracking systems and investment in purpose-built warehousing with 24-hour CCTV. 2010: Built a 15,000 sq. ft. transit warehouse and expanded to 14 UK offices, strengthening road freight network.

2015

Achieved Civil Aviation Authority regulated agent status and AEO accreditation for supply chain security.

Simon Rawlinson

Managing Director

Simon Rawlinson has been a part of Trans Global Freight Management Ltd. since 1994, beginning his career in the European Road Freight Division at the company’s Manchester office. Over more than three decades with the business, he has held a number of key operational and leadership roles, gaining extensive experience across all aspects of freight forwarding and supply chain management.

In 2000, Simon re-opened and successfully established the Stoke-on-Trent branch as Branch Manager, developing it into a fully multimodal operation. He later moved to the Basildon office in 2009 to lead the company’s European Transport Division, where he was responsible for the continued growth and development of TGFM’s road freight services.

In 2012, Simon joined the company’s Head Office in Greenhithe to oversee Surface Freight Services as General Manager. His leadership and operational expertise led to his appointment as Operations Director, where he played a pivotal role in driving service excellence, business growth, and operational transformation across the organisation.

On 1 July 2026, Simon was appointed Managing Director of Trans Global Freight Management Ltd. Drawing on over 30 years of industry experience and an in-depth understanding of the business, he is focused on delivering sustainable growth, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring TGFM continues to provide innovative, reliable, and market-leading logistics solutions.
